Why Korea University Anam introduces non-face-to-face smart stethoscope SKEEPER?

Lee Eun-joo, a professor of respiratory and allergic medicine at Korea University Anam Hospital, said, “I decided that the technology of Smartsound Corporation, which was linked to the national task last year, could be used in the medical field,” and added, “I received great help in treating infectious disease patients with non-face-to-face smart stethoscope donated by the company.”

In fact, Smartsound’s Skeeper was used prominently in the process of monitoring real-time stethoscope through a Bluetooth-connected app, such as stethoscope for patients inside the isolation room, wireless stethoscope for nurses wearing barriers according to instructions from doctors outside the isolation room.

It was also possible to transmit the stored stethoscope to the doctor in charge and store the stethoscope data for each patient to check the change in symptoms and manage the history.

Using patented technology that accurately measures human sound signals such as lungs(breathing), bronchial tubes, and hearts, non-face-to-face auscultation is possible based on Bluetooth wireless communication, and lung-sound lesions are stored at each measurement location, making the most of the advantages.

Professor Lee Eun-joo said, “Because of the risk of radiation, CT cannot be taken every time, and there is a limit to X-rays alone. Quarantine is also very important, she said. “I was able to have auscultation with minimal contact, and the technology to check the improvement of my fellow professor who had COVID-19 every day surprised many people and felt grateful.”

It felt advanced technology such as designing products optimized for non-face-to-face treatment, which is portable and can be easily used from measurement to remote transmission, and securing data consistency and reliability in the entire process of measurement, storage, analysis, and transmission.

She added that it is also impressive to see domestic companies developing and making efforts to quickly accept and develop various ideas presented by medical staff.

It drew attention by introducing ways to take emergency measures by listening to normal sounds in mental breathing difficulties that can cause various panic and panic disorders, and also introducing parts where you can listen to real sounds and learn vividly beyond the limits of books in education for prospective medical personnel.

“Outstanding Efficiency New Weapon for Medical Staff, Direction to Go”

Meanwhile, when asked about future development and improvement, Professor Lee Eun-joo advised, “I’m looking forward to AI’s integration, but it would be more convenient if we could solve everything such as analysis, record management, and data transmission with one device even if we don’t install additional apps on our smartphones.”

In line with this, Smartsound Corporation will insert a number of advanced digital functions while saving the existing stethoscope design itself, and will also release a product that catches two rabbits, maximizing classical sensitivity, function, and convenience.

At the end of the interview, she said with a bright smile, “I am really encouraged by the fact that we have new weapons for medical staff that are excellent in efficiency, and I hope they will be distributed to more medical institutions.”

Be+LAB, signing a Business Agreement with Smartsound…”Building a Smart Healthcare Hub”

Be+LAB, signing a Business Agreement with Smartsound…”Building a Smart Healthcare Hub”

Be+LAB (co-CEO Jeong Hoon-jae and Heo Ki-joon), an AI-based medical solution company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Smartsound (CEO Lee Man-chan), a healthcare solution digital company, at Be+LAB Conference Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 11th.

The two companies decided on this agreement to secure competitiveness in the non-face-to-face medical market and to discover and realize potential business opportunities. Through this, ▲ it plans to build a healthcare hub using digital devices and platforms, ▲ develop medical big data and algorithms, ▲ jointly participate in government support projects, and ▲ promote business cooperation on other agreements between the two companies.

Be+LAB launched its AI-based medical information service platform “Adiapa” in 2018 to unveil its AI questionnaire service, and recently expanded its business area by launching non-face-to-face treatment, pharmaceutical preparation, and delivery services. Smartsound is a medical IoT company that has developed a smart stethoscope “Skeeper” optimized for non-face-to-face treatment. In particular, it was selected as the U.S. NASA’s high-tech global top 25 in 2020, and in April, it received the “Minister of Science and Technology and Information and Communication Award” for its excellent evaluation in terms of the achievement of research on the development of AI solutions based on stethoscope and social contribution.

The two companies are the first to build a healthcare hub environment using the technologies of ‘Adiapa’ and ‘Skeeper’. In addition, it will participate in the development of chronic disease management projects through non-face-to-face treatment combined with smart stethoscope and AI questionnaire. It will also cooperate to advance medical big data and algorithms by combining AI questionnaire data with stethoscope sound.

It will also actively participate in government-funded projects. It has decided to seek business opportunities for integrated care in the community and the elderly.
In particular, it has also decided to contribute to the development of health care service platforms and device links for pregnant women and infants. Jeong Hoon-jae, CEO of Be+LAB, said, “We are happy to cooperate with Smartsound, which leads the non-face-to-face stethoscope medical field with world-recognized technology,” adding, “As AI interviews and smart stethoscope technologies are combined, we expect to provide detailed and accurate treatment in the future.”

Lee Man-chan, CEO of Smartsound, said, “Through this business agreement, the two companies decided to jointly participate in government-supported projects such as community integrated care projects and health care projects in the early stages of their lives.”

Smartsound Corporation., links hospital EMR system through participation in a pilot project to strengthen security of Non-Face-To-Face medical services

Smartsound Corporation., links hospital EMR system through participation in a pilot project to strengthen security of Non-Face-To-Face medical services

Smartsound (CEO Lee Jung ho), a digital leading healthcare solution company, said it was recently selected as a participating company in the non-face-to-face care field among the “Non-Face-To-Face Service Security Enhancement Pilot Project” supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet Promotion Agency.

This project provides a smart stethoscope Skeeper developed by Smartsound, a medical Internet company, to develop a non-face-to-face treatment service of ezCaretech, the host company.

Smartsound provides biometric information data obtained from smart stethoscope skeeper to ezOntheCall solution and is linked to the electronic medical records of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital for treatment.

In existing non-face-to-face treatments, if the patient subjectively revealed symptoms without auscultation, the skeeper is evaluated to have enhanced its function in that the doctor can more accurately grasp the patient’s condition through auscultation. Non-face-to-face treatment can be performed in a more strengthened security environment by encrypting all communication sections and bio-signal data during auscultation to prevent forgery.

By participating in this project, Smartsound predicts that the quality of diagnosis will be improved by increasing the accuracy of non-face-to-face treatment and increasing access to medical services for the vulnerable and chronically ill, such as care services.

CEO Lee Jung ho said, “In the past, non-face-to-face treatment was difficult, but COVID-19 temporarily allowed non-face-to-face treatment, which has increased the possibility of continuing the business as an opportunity to change social awareness of non-face-to-face treatment.”

Recently, Smartsound won the Best Minister of Science and ICT Award this year at the 2022 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Information and Communication Planning and Evaluation Institute (IITP).
