Smartsound Corporation (CEO Lee Jung-ho) announced on the 6th that it has been selected as a participating company in the project of “Development of 5G and Edge Computing-Based Mobile Flexible Medical SW Platform Technology” by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

This project is a joint project between the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to provide medical services to the vulnerable in medical and emergency and disaster situations.

Along with Yonsei University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Ontact Health, and Be+LAB, Smartsound is in charge of developing 5G and AI-based flexible medical AI SW to support medical services suitable for field situations and participating in the first detailed task of building its own test bed.

Smartsound and smart stethoscope Skeeper want to contribute to maintaining the performance of AI SW for flexible medical care (15 types, including test support and diagnosis support) to accurately assist medical personnel by accurately hearing heart and lung sounds, which are vital signs of patients, not hospitals.

CEO Lee Jung-ho stressed, “Smart stethoscope skeepers are expected to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people by expanding health and medical services through AI diagnosis to medical vulnerable areas and classes through this project.”
